On 23 June 2026 TISGRADE hosted its first TISGRADE Talk bringing together more than 100 road authorities, National Access Points and service providers to discuss the role of Pre-Deployment Validations (PDVs) in improving the quality and usability of traffic information services across Europe.
The session highlighted ongoing work on the digitisation of Traffic Circulation Plans and Temporary Traffic Management Measures, as well as the development of common validation frameworks for static and dynamic road data. These are essential steps towards formulating recommendations for wider implementation.
Speakers Isaak Yperman (Movias), Martijn de Kievit (NDW), Stephen T’Siobbel (ERTICO) and Bart Lannoo (Be-Mobile) presented initial findings from PDV sites across Europe and shared best practices in data quality, automation and public-private feedback loops. They demonstrated how accurate and reliable data can be integrated into navigation services, supporting traffic management objectives and helping road authorities guide traffic more effectively.
All presentations underlined the importance of harmonised validation methods, stronger collaboration between stakeholders and continuous quality improvement to ensure reliable traffic information for road users and service providers across Europe.
