The next TISGRADE Public-Private Technical Group (PPTG) meeting will take place on 14–15 September 2026 at the ASFINAG office in Vienna, Austria, with the option to join either in person or online. The meeting will be organised in combination with the TISA meeting, starting on 15 September. The topic of this PPTG is the digitization of Traffic Circulation Plans (TCPs) and Temporary Traffic Management Measures (TMMs).

Over two half-days, public and private stakeholders will come together to exchange knowledge and work towards common approaches for the digitalisation and use of traffic and road information. Key topics include Functional Road Classes (FRCs), the digitalisation and use of Traffic Circulation Plans (TCPs) and Temporary Traffic Management Measures (TMMs), and the development of common data schemes, zoning and business rules.

The sessions will build on practical experience from the TISGRADE Pre-Deployment Validations and aim to identify common requirements, open questions and areas for further testing.

The meeting will be held at the ASFINAG office in Vienna (Schnirchgasse 17). Further details on the agenda and registration are available here.

Programme day 1 (14 September)

  • 13:00h – 14:00h Introduction session
    • Share the common goals for all stakeholders: work towards a standard that is useable for all stakeholders
    • Where do we come from and what are we working towards together
    • The result of the meeting is an agreement on certain items, but also a list of what remains to be tested during the pre-deployment validation, and which PDV-location will assist in answering this question.
  • 14:00h – 17:00h Functional Road Classes (FRC)
    • Discuss different relevant standards / frameworks (OSM, INSPIRE, etc.),
    • Examples of FRC use cases from existing TISGRADE use cases involving both road authorities & service providers
    • Which requirements for FRCs do we need to meet for them to be usable on a European scale?
    • Work towards the elements of a common data scheme
    • Confrontation with the scope of TMM’s and related questions (e.g. what is temporary if we work with temporary TCPs, what is an acceptable update frequency?)

Programme day 2 (15 September)

  • 9:00h – 10:30h Toolbox for TCP/TMM - Information, support and practical guidelines for Digitization, Usage & Evaluation (focuses more on TISGRADE PDV-locations and reaching agreement on PDV-period)
    • Assist road authorities in the digitalization of TCPs and TMMs, which aspects do we need to consider, what can we learn from the various use cases in TISGRADE
    • How can we reach agreement on the use of this data, what is the role of the NAPs, what are best practices we can build on
    • How can we evaluate the use of the digital TCPs and TMMs
  • 10:30h – 12:30h Extending TCPs with zoning & business rules - Relevant standards / frameworks, common data schemes
    • Building on the FRC session, extending this with both zoning and business rule concepts, what aspects do we need to take into account
    • In what way can business rules be implemented and used
  • 12:30h – 13:00h Wrap-up

The meeting is open to everyone with an interest in the topics. In the future, invitations will be sent to those who indicate their interest via the TISGRADE contact details.xlsx. Please update column “T” if you would like to be invited to PPTG meetings.
